Samuel A. Mills 

President, Asahi Kasei Battery Separator Canada Corporation; 
Executive Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain, Celgard, LLC (Canada)

Samuel A. Mills joined the Asahi Kasei organization in October 2022 as Senior Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain for Celgard and was recently appointed president of the newly established Asahi Kasei Battery Separator businesses in North America.

As president of Asahi Kasei Battery Separator North America (AKBSNA) and Asahi Kasei Battery Separator Canada (AKBSCA), Sam has responsibility for the company’s battery separator operations in North America, including oversight of the fully integrated Hipore™ battery separator manufacturing facility currently under construction in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada, as well as the Hipore™ coating facilities under construction in Charlotte, North Carolina, U.S. He is also responsible for the management of all Celgard® battery separator operations, including global capacity planning, materials management, quality control, environmental, safety and health, procurement, sales and operations planning, warehousing and distribution.

Sam brings extensive experience from roles in global supply chain, continuous improvement and operations from time with Polypore International, W.R. Grace, Honeywell International and others.  He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas.
