The Hon. Gan Siow Huang

Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore) 

Ms Gan Siow Huang is the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade & Industry, and the Member of Parliament for Marymount Single Member Constituency. 

​

Since being elected in 2020, she has focused on building a caring and sustainable community in Marymount through initiatives like the Marymount Care and Green Plans. These efforts have led to various community projects, including food rescue programmes and support for seniors and caregivers. 
 
Prior to her current role, Siow Huang championed the SkillsFuture movement and advocated for workplace diversity, flexible work arrangements, and mental well-being support as part of her work at the Ministry of Manpower and Ministry of Education. 
 
Siow Huang holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics) degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science (1996) and Master in Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2010). 
 
As a mother of three girls and an advocate for empowering women, she mentors women starting their careers. She hopes to see more women in leadership roles.
