
Younkyoo Kim
Dean of the College of International Studies and the Graduate School of International Studies at Hanyang University (South Korea)
Prof. Younkyoo Kim is currently the Dean of the College of International Studies and the Graduate School of International Studies at Hanyang University. He also serves as the Director of the Asia-Pacific Research Center and the Global Circular Economy Center.
Since March 2025, he has served as a member of the Committee on Supply Chain Security for the Ministry of Economy and Finance. From August 2021 to April 2022, he chaired the Resource Security Diagnosis Committee under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, supporting the enactment of the Special Act on Resource Security. He has served on numerous Korean government committees and received awards, including the Excellence in Research Award from the Ministry of Education.

Recently, he published a paper on the U.S.–China competition in electric vehicle batteries and South Korea's role, and authored a book on U.S.–China rare earth element competition and economic security.
Dr. Kim received his M.A.L.D. from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Purdue University.
